If you’ve felt your LinkedIn feed behaving… differently lately, you’re not imagining things.
The platform has quietly rolled out a series of algorithm tweaks that shift what content gets seen, how long it stays visible, and what kind of engagement actually moves the needle.

After working with hundreds of clients navigating these changes in real time, here’s my take: it’s not about chasing hacks,  it’s about showing up smarter, more intentional, and more human.

Below is your friendly, field-tested breakdown of what’s new, why it matters, and how to adjust without overhauling everything.

What Actually Changed

📌 Relevance > Recency (but not by much)

In June, LinkedIn started showing posts from up to 2–3 weeks ago — if they were predicted to be more professionally relevant to you. That meant your posts could have a longer shelf life if they kept getting meaningful engagement. After some pushback about “stale” feeds, LinkedIn scaled this back slightly in July — but relevance is still weighted higher than it used to be.

📌 Quality signals matter more

Posts that feel insightful and personal outperform generic thought leadership. The algorithm now rewards:

  • Original posts from clear subject-matter experts
  • Thoughtful comments (15+ words)
  • Strong early engagement within the first hour

Meanwhile, low-effort engagement-bait (“Comment YES…”) and spammy mass-tagging are actively downgraded.
📌 Comments are gold

A great comment on someone else’s post can now outperform your own post in reach, and it builds a visibility loop that keeps your name top of mind.

📌 Native formats + vertical video win

Native LinkedIn formats (text, carousel, doc, video) perform better than links out.
Video, especially vertical, has quietly become one of LinkedIn’s fastest-growing formats — with 36% more watch time YoY.

📌 Hashtags + AI? Use lightly

Hashtags aren’t as important anymore — 0–3 relevant ones are plenty.
And AI-generated posts that lack authentic voice and context often get penalized compared to humanized content.

What You Should Do Right Now

You don’t need to reinvent your strategy — but these are easy shifts you can make this week:

Post fewer, richer pieces (1–3x/week) — spark real discussion and engage fast.
Show up in the comments — spend 10 min/day leaving value-packed replies on others’ posts.
Lean on expertise — share data points, lessons learned, or case studies that reflect what you actually know.
Refresh old winners — update older posts with a new insight to keep them relevant longer.
Use native carousels or video — and aim for at least 15 seconds average watch time.
Don’t overdo hashtags — make your opening line keyword-rich instead.
Personalize your AI drafts — add your own perspective and a story.

People don’t just want you to show up,  they want you to show up as you.
